Newsletter - Setup
Stamps cost more these days especially with the new postal size charges, so what better way to save you money that emailing your customers and clients with information, news and special offers. A newsletter can bring customers back to your site again and again.
People like being involved and also like a bargain, by keeping in touch weekly or monthly you can make sure that your regular customers come back again and again.
How not to do it!
Spam as you probably know is rife these days - how can you ensure that your newsletters are not considered spam. Well these days you have to ensure that people sign up to your newsletter, and that's a positive action, not a yes box already ticked. You should also state how often the newsletter will be sent out and stick to it. If you say monthly don't do bi-weekly. Try to make sure that you newsletter are easily read and also are of interest you who your sending it too.
Did you know Thursday's are the best day to send out Newsletters? Why because most people are looking forward to the weekend and would more than likely spend time to read your newsletter rather on a Monday when their inbox is already full.... interesting...
Text or HTML
Ahh jargon again - will its simple would you want a colourful newsletter or email with images - or just plain text with no colour and images? The colourful one is HTML and the other is TEXT.
What's the difference? - TEXT is usually seen by everyone, but HTML can get caught in peoples spam filters, the more spam there is these days the harder we have to work to ensure that our emails are not seen as spam.
The more text you use and the less code the better.
